The weRead Book Award was set up in 2008, with the generous sponsorship of the Brookwood Partnership and University College School, to encourage young people to discover the magic of reading.
WeRead invites young readers to write reviews of a selection of books and to nominate their favourite author. Then, we invite the authors to meet the readers at a 'Meet-the-Author' day, at which the winning authors and reviewers are awarded prizes.

Now, in our third year, weRead's 'Meet the Author' day is recognised as an exciting event in the calendar of several schools, and already has a devoted following. This year's Award Ceremony and 'Meet-the-Author' day will take place on Friday July 2nd at University College School, Frognal, Hampstead, London NW3 6XH.
This year, the Award has been organised in partnership with Tales on Moon Lane, a specialist children's bookshop which was the winner of Walker Independent Children's Bookshop of the Year in 2008, and is voted one of Time Out's 'Top Five' London Bookshops.
